The 2000 Census indicates that Florida has a total of 6,337,929 occupied homes.  3,242,202 of these homes are occupied by the owner.  18,094 have a property value of $1,000,000 or more, or 0.6 percent.  54,446 homes are valued at $500,000 to $999,999, or 1.7 percent  132,683 are priced from $300,000 to $499,999, or 4.1 percent.  270,659 have a real estate value of $200,000 to $299,999, or 8.3 percent.  The are 407,296 residences in the $150,000 to $199,000 price range, or 12.6 percent.  839,775 home owners in Florida have homes valued from $100,000 to $149,999 (25.9 percent).  The number of homes in the $50,000 to $99,999 price range is 1,287,169, or 39.7 percent.  There are 232,080 properties priced at less than $50,000, or 7.2 percent.  

In Florida, 2,323,452 or 71.7 percent of home owners have a mortgage.  The median monthly mortgage payment is $1,004.  918,750, or 28.3 percent of home owners have no mortgage.
